A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist specializing in school-based services, located in Des Plaines, IL. This position supports elementary school students by providing therapeutic interventions that enhance their ability to participate fully in academic and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized occupational therapy plans for students.
- Implement therapeutic activities designed to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, and daily functioning within the school environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to ensure comprehensive support.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school settings, preferably elementary education.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric developmental disorders and adaptive techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple caseloads.
- Familiarity with school-based therapy documentation and compliance guidelines.
